Honoring our Heroes for Memorial Day

Honoring our Heroes for Memorial Day

What is Memorial Day?

Memorial Day, falling on the last Monday of May, is a time to honor and remember the brave individuals who gave their lives for our nation's freedom.

Though it became a federal holiday in 1971, the tradition started after the Civil War when communities would gather to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers.

These days, the tradition continues as families, friends, and communities come together to pay their respects, placing flowers and flags on the graves of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country's freedom.

As Memorial Day approaches, we want to take a moment to thank those who have served and continue to serve our nation with courage and integrity. Honoring those who sacrificed for our freedom is at the heart of what we do!

What Can I Do?

With summer around the corner, it's a great time to enjoy nature, think about what we're thankful for, and make special memories with our loved ones. Let's honor our fallen soldiers by remembering their sacrifices and appreciating the freedoms they've given us.

From cool tees with military logos to comfy baseball caps for sunny days, items like this allow you to honor veterans while enjoying Memorial Day. Whether it's you or a loved one who served in the Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force, wearing these mementos is a meaningful way to show respect for their service and dedication to our country.

Don't forget, a simple act like dropping off flowers at their graves is a meaningful way to honor their sacrifices. After all, it's not just a duty; it's a heartfelt expression of gratitude and respect.

Enjoy The Day!

Last Memorial Day, I wore my grandfather's old military cap and visited his grave. It felt like a small tribute to his service and sacrifice, helping me appreciate him and the holiday even greater.

After respects are paid, enjoy time with family and friends. After all, it's what the sacrifice was all for!
